Pennsylvania health officials are confirming that a 5-year-old boy from Adams County is the state's first child to die from H1N1 flu.

The state Health Department said Tuesday that the child died Saturday from complications related to swine flu. His name wasn't released.

WTAE Channel 4's Harrisburg affiliate, WGAL, identified the child as Kyree Gamble and reported that he was a kindergarten student in Littlestown, Pa.

Nineteen Pennsylvania adults have also died from the disease -- including two people in Allegheny County and a Butler County woman. Most infections are occurring among younger people.

Health officials say the latest case highlights the need to vaccinate those between the ages of six months and 24 years.
