Pittsburgh Youth Lobby For Greener Economy

A group of young people from Pittsburgh are in Washington, D.C., on Friday to lobby for a green economy.

The 50 young Pittsburghers left for the nation's capital to be a part of "Power Shift 2009," a gathering of 10,000 youth committed to clean energy and smart climate policy.

Local teens and young adults are lobbying local lawmakers to make sure they are enacting policies that promote a green economy.

"We want to make sure that government hears our voice and make sure legislation is enacted in order to have a cleaner, greener future for myself and my children and my children's children," said Tony Lodico of the League of Young Voters.

A group of young people from Pittsburgh are in Washington, D.C., on Friday to lobby for a green economy.

The teens are from several local groups including the League of Young Voters, TASK, One Hood, One Vision One Life and New Voices Pittsburgh.
