The next time pet owners go to bathe their dogs, they may want to look at what’s inside the products they use.

Pet products can contain chemicals to kill fleas and ticks, but a Jeannette, Westmoreland County, day spa is giving the dogs top treatment, while staying conveniently green.

“I don't use chemicals on my dogs,” said Dogs By Design owner Beth Kidd. “I don't use chemicals in my shop or in my house.”

Kidd started her eco-friendly dog spa more than 10 years ago.

Her passion is finding pure, all natural, green products.

Products, such as the almond exfoliating scrub and exotic floral wash, calm itchy skin, rid redness and fight fleas.

As a result, Kidd’s clients won’t take their pets anywhere else.

“She had a skin problem where she was losing her fur. She started over here using the all natural and no problem! She gets a vanilla almonds scrub! She gets better treatment than I do,” said one pet owner.

Tammy Catalano said her dog Windy is very sensitive to toxins and chemicals.

“That's why I bring her here because Beth uses all natural products,” said Catalano. “As you can see, her coat is beautiful!”

Other animal lovers agreed that the pampering their pets receive at the day spa is just what they needed.

“Not only is she a great groomer but her products. She uses the green clay treatment on these two and we love it!” said Anne Plieskatt, a customer for 10 years.
