Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tradition Returns For Another Year

PITTSBURGH -- Citiparks farmers' markets are returning to Pittsburgh this year between May 12 and November 26.They will run one day a week, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in different city communities.All markets will sell farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheese and baked goods. Some locations will also have flowers, small gifts and gardening items for sale.

- South 18th and Carson streets on the South Side
- St. Mary of the Mount parking lot, 403 Grandview Ave., Mt. WashingtonWednesdays: Brownsville Road and Parkfield Street, behind Carrick shopping centerThursdays:
- Immaculate Conception School parking lot at Cedarville Street and Friendship Avenue in Bloomfield
- Noblestown Road at Obey Street in the West EndFridays:
- East Park at East Ohio Street and Cedar Avenue on the North Side
- Sennot Street between Meyran Avenue and Atwood Street in Oakland
(opens June 20, closing time is 6:30 p.m.)Also on Fridays, a farmers' market will be open outside the City-County Building on Grant Street downtown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
