A Sonic drive-in in North Strabane Township is holding its grand opening on Tuesday.

The Washington Road restaurant is one of 16 Sonics to be built in the Pittsburgh region over the next five years.

The man who founded the Kings Family Restaurant chain, Hartley King, and his partners, who have formed a corporation called NCH Hospitality, will own the franchise.

The corporation is one of two local franchise holders for Sonic Restaurants, a subsidiary of Oklahoma City-based Sonic Corp.

In July, ground was broken on the first Sonic restaurant in the Pittsburgh area. It's being built at the Village at Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer Township.

Sonic has more than 3,200 restaurants in 35 states and Mexico.
