For only the second time in nearly 100 years The fireworks show at the Avalon athletic fields has been postponed.

The annual tradition has been delayed this year because of last month's flooding. Fireworks festivities will now likely happen around Labor Day.

The only other time this fireworks show was delayed was during World War Two.

32nd annual EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta. Event includes speed boat racing, Jet Ski shows and a bass fishing tournament. Fireworks display from western Pennsylvania’s own Pyrotecnico, the reigning international fireworks champion.

Kicking off its 35th anniversary Fourth of July celebration, Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival hosts a four-day event presented lakeside at Twin Lakes Park. 250 artists/crafters and 90 strolling and stage performances. For children: performances and activities at creativity zone and petting zoo.

Green Tree: Raffles, games and prizes and a dunk tank at Wilson Park Swimming Pool, starting at noon

Latrobe: Parade 10:30 a.m. through downtown Latrobe. Midway concession stands open at noon in Legion Keener Park.

Monongahela: A Fireworks Extravaganza at the Aquatorium will be held on Saturday, July 4th with a rain date on July 5th. Festivities begin at 6:00 PM with DJ Bill Lemon playing your favoite tunes and all requests. Fireworks are at 9:45 PM set to patriotic music. Enjoy Food Booths and Concessions. The event is FREE and there is free parking
