PITTSBURGH -- Neon green Mr. Yuk bracelets, modeled after the Lance Armstrong Foundation's yellow "Livestrong" wristbands, went on sale Friday.
On each bracelet is Mr. Yuk's face, the words "POISON HELP" and the national poison emergency phone number.
Bracelets are available at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium; some Giant Eagle, Sam's Club and Wal-Mart stores; and online at
MrYuk1.com.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Yuk's scowling green face has been used to help prevent accidental poisonings. The character was created at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and is seen on millions of stickers distributed nationwide each year by the Pittsburgh Poison Center.
