Organizers said the all-day affair at South Park was something that Pausch would have loved."Everybody likes to play some ball," said Glenn Birkenfield, a co-organizer of the event. "Randy gets a lot of credit for his last lecture, but it's important to remember he said that he felt the most at home on a football field. So, it's appropriate to honor him this way."Pausch died of pancreatic cancer in July 2008. His final lecture was turned into a best-selling book that inspired millions around the world.
