Listen up!

Class is in session.

Last night, Total Nonstop Action wrestling held its latest pay-per-view, called "Turning Point." If you haven't caught TNA on Spike TV yet, do yourself a favor, because it's a nice alternative to the WWE universe. So what happened in Orlando? Read on, kids.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match: 4 Live Kru vs. Team Canada
What Should Happen: This is the first big match involving the former Billy Gunn (now going by Kip James) teaming up with his old WWE tag partner B.G. James (Road Dogg), Ron Killings and Konnan. If it were up to me, Team Canada would destroy the Kru, planting new seeds of distrust in the new alliance. This should be a fun match. (Gotta love this job, I get to write trash like "seeds of distrust.")

What Will Happen: What should happen and what will happen are often leagues apart -- as in this case. 4 Live Kru will win.

WhatDid Happen: I guess someone is listening to me. The Kru lost after Konnan clocked his teammate Kip with a folding chair, as Bobby Roode from Team Canada covered Kip for the win..

Challenge Match: Monty Brown vs. Christian Cage:
What Should Happen: The winner gets an NWA world title shot. Christian, who recently chose TNA over WWE, should take this one - enraging Brown.

What Will Happen: You don't sign a WWE superstar and bury him on his first pay-per-view. Christian wins.

What Did Happen: Christian wins with his signature move, the Unprettier.

Barbed Wire Massacre Match: Abyss vs. Sabu
What Should Happen:TNA says the ropes will be made of barbed wire, so this isn't for the squeamish. The blood should run, that's for sure. As for who should win, does it really matter? That's not the point here. It's all spectacle, and TNA is glad to serve it up.

What Will Happen: Crimson masks will be worn by each gentleman, with the monster Abyss getting the victory.

What Did Happen: It was a bloody mess, which Sabu won.

Tables Match: America's Most Wanted (c) vs. Team 3D
What Should Happen: This is a tables match, which Brother Bubba and Brother Ray have perfected over time. The former Dudleys should win this one.

What Will Happen: Team 3D wins their signature match.

What Did Happen: Team 3D won their signature match.

X-Division Title Match: A.J. Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe
What Should Happen: If each guy lives up to his billing, this should be one of the best wrestling matches in the world this year. So it's worth buying this pay-per-view just to see it, and I'm not kidding. This should probably be the main event.

What Will Happen: This is really a hard one to call, but I'm ready to believe Joe is ready to wear some gold. Samoa takes it in a classic.

What Did Happen: Samoa won it with his sleeper hold, then attacked Styles afterwards. A great match, worth the price of the PPV.

NWA World Title Match: Jeff Jarrett (c) vs. Rhino
What Should Happen: It would be nice to see Rhino get his title back, which he lost simply because TNA was going to Spike TV and Jarrett was picked to carry the torch for a wider national audience. But now that Christian is in the mix, look for him to feud with Jarrett in a series of matches. That makes sense, but at some point A.J. Styles has to be the man wearing the NWA gold. He's clearly the best in the ring, and the heavyweight division in this promotion needs a new superstar, not just former WWE/WCW/ECW talent. Here, Rhino is the odd man out.

What Will Happen: Jarrett wins, and keeps his belt. Christian tops the next TNA pay-per-view.

What Did Happen: Team Canada basically mugged Rhino, allowing Jarrett to score the pin and the win.

That's it -- another solid TNA pay-per-view in the books. For the record, I picked four matches correctly, and missed two. But if you throw out the barbed-wire match (as I mentioned, it didn't really matter who won) and consider that the 4 Live Kru match went as I thought it should have gone, I was basically perfect. A ring prophet, you might say. Surprised? Don't be. I'm a grappling scholar.

Now scram!

Class dismissed!
