Your Feedback: Stern's Back, WBZZ's GoneChannel 4 Action News wants your feedback about WBZZ's decision to become a rock station and air Howard Stern in the mornings instead of the "Dave, Bubba, Brian and Shelley" show.Send your comments to newsroom@thepittsburghchannel.com. Please include your first name and hometown. Some of your comments could be used on Channel 4 Action News. Here is a sample of what Action News viewers are saying so far: Wow - what a shocker this morning! I can’t believe that WBZZ gave its morning crew the heave-ho to put Howard Stern on the airways. Dave, Bubba, Shelly, and Brian became a part of my morning routine, and I appreciated the good, clean fun that is so clearly lacking from the Howard Stern show.- Valerie, Bethel Park WE'RE THRILLED HE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Nancy Although the name had changed, it always will be B94 to me. I grew up with the radio station and from when I was in elementary school I can remember listening to the morning show ... B94 had a hometown feel that many of the other radio stations in this area are definitely lacking in ... I will truly miss everything about B94!- Nicole, Sewickley I'm glad that Howard is back, but far more importantly is my right to decide whether or not to listen to him ... In the end, it's about censorship and I don't want some corporate executive imposing his/her morals on me.- Ron, Ohio Township I think it is hideous ... The channel will be taken off of my radio because I don't think my 14, 9 and 7 year old should hear what he has to say- Jaci, Indiana It's horrible ... I loved the station the way it was. Now I am supposed to listen to that loud-mouthed obnoxious jerk ... I don't think so.- Molly, Upper St. Clair So he isn't for kids. Most of the "fun" things in life aren't. Censorship is a job for parents, and an individual choice. Not a choice to be made for us by our government. Keep Big Brother off my airwaves. I feel terrible for the B94 crew, but LONG LIVE STERN!- Beth, Pittsburgh As I explained to my 13 and 14 year old, free society needs a court jester to test the limits. Those who would censor Stern are trying to remove the freedoms on which our country is based. I would air him July 4th to remind us how important free speech really is.- Rand I'm disgusted that he's back on the air. I'd much rather listen to Bubba, Dave and Shelly in the morning. Howard Stern is raunchy and disgusting. Give WBZZ back to B-94!!!- Stephen HOORAY FOR HOWARD!!!! Have missed the show greatly. My thoughts are if you don't want to hear what he or his callers have to say, DONT TURN ON THE RADIO STATION!!! Banning Howard would be like banning HBO from TV. If there is something on TV that you don't want to watch, what do you do??? You don't put that particular channel on!!!! It's not brain surgery folks!!!- Denise, Bethel Park We have lost some great friends today. As a former intern on the B94 morning radio show, I know that I will always have my memories of some of the nicest, most down to earth people, who really loved Pittsburgh. Good luck my friends. I know the future is still bright for each and everyone of you.Andrew (a.k.a. Asian Andy) Aren't there enough rock stations in Pittsburgh?!? News flash: not everyone likes rock.- Kiersten Howard Stern is a boil on the world's backside, why would you want this man on the air again. He's not going to change, a leopard can't change its spots. The man is the devil ... Our kid's don't need this kind of stuff.- Dave, South Side Howard RULES!!!!!! Listening to Howard makes my morning. Keep talking!!!!- Natalie, Pittsburgh I miss the days of B-94 fm. WBZZ is making a mistake!- Tom, West Mifflin It's GREAT to hear Howard is back. I realize he has a way of getting under people's skin, and that is exactly why he is so good. He pushes his freedom of speech rights to the limit ... My first amendment right are very precious to me, and I will fight to protect them.- Kevin, Smithfield I am very disappointed. I definitely will not be listening to "Krock." I have been a loyal B94 listener for 8 years so this comes as quite a shock to learn of their sellout to Stern. Stern was kicked off the air for a reason and it's only a matter of time before he bites the dust again. We can only hope it comes swiftly.- Chris, Smithfield I will definitely miss the hometown feel of B93.7. These 4 DJs connected with listeners about Pittsburgh and everything in it. From the Friday Morning Joke-Off, to Giant Brian's "Outskirts of Pittsburgh," to Bubba stopping traffic, these 4 made it a joy to drive to work every morning and I certainly had fun right alongside them.Today as this transition takes place, I truly feel empty - like I lost dear friends. I equate this to a favorite television show going off the air. Only these people - these characters - are real. Over the years thousands have shared in the lives of Banana Don, Dave, Bubba, Aimee, Shelly, Giant Brian, Kobe, Adam, Melanie, the interns, and everyone who their voices touched. These DJs are a part of Pittsburgh and I truly hope we get to hear their wonderful voices again soon. To all at B93.7, best of luck to you all. You are truly a fantastic crew.Matt, Jeannette This is great! Pittsburgh has missed Howard and I think BZZ needed a change anyway! People will be angry of course but radio stations change all the time.- Taryn, Plum I like rock just fine, but don't care for Howard.- Barbara, Mount Oliver Howard's show is hilarious. Happy it's back.- Suzanne I hope the morning team finds a new home somewhere. That at least was a show we could listen to with the kids. Stern is part of the moral decay of our nation.- Jim, Brentwood I tuned in today and the music was awful. I am sure there are plenty of other stations in Pittsburgh that could have picked up Howard ... Why can't we have a variety for everyone to be happy? I'll miss my B94!!!- Missy, Sheraden One thing that strikes me is how hypocritical some people are. People are expressing their right to be heard by hoping to restrict somebody else's. I didn't have to read your comment the same as you don't have to listen to a radio station.I am also glad to hear people say that they will be parenting what their children listen to and not rely on the government.I also sympathize with people who are losing a morning show that they were used to hearing every day. This is what Stern listeners went through.- Steve, Aliquippa To me, it's not a matter of Howard Stern or censorship, it's that I'm going to miss the station that I have grown up listening to.- Betsy, Pittsburgh I hope that one of our other stations in the city will pick up the morning show team. I have been a loyal B94 listener since I was in junior high school. Now, at age 35, I will need to find another way to start my day.- Cindy, Franklin Park I think that losing the B-93.7 morning show and changing formats is a HUGE mistake. I have grown to love B-93.7, 93.7BZZ and B94. No matter what the station called itself, it was great and the Morning Show was THE BEST in Pittsburgh ... Best of luck to Dave, Bubba, Shelley, Brian and everyone else at B-93.7! Great news on both parts. While I personally think that Stern's show is unfunny and boring and I can't stand to listen to it, the government censorship made me more sick than he ever could. I'm also glad to be rid of one more of our "pop" stations churning out this corporate non-music. All of our rock stations now seem to only play classic rock, and the X is just the new stuff.- John, Ambridge Excited, we have part of our freedom back, Clear Channel censored everyone's a.m. radio.- Heather It was always a family friendly station and now we are being forced to live through mornings with Howard Stern yet again being vulgar on the radio. I also feel that there are plenty of rock stations in the city and that the top 40 format should have at least stayed in place. My radio will now be tuned in elsewhere ...- Jodi, Canonsburg I am so happy to finally hear Stern again. I missed hearing what's going on in the world and getting a good viewpoint instead of the left wing sided media. I am also thrilled that WBZZ has taken him on and we don't have to hear John, Dave, Bubba or Shelly any longer.- Jill It is very upsetting that a radio station that has been part of Pittsburgh for at least 25 years is changing. Good bye to B93.7 & hello to an annoying, disturbing syndicated radio station. This has been the talk of my work place all morning.- Marcy The first time I heard Howard Stern on the radio was in New York City. I never laughed so hard in all my life. Howard is unique and if you don't like him don't listen. I am a grandmother of seven and I love him. Although he can be crude, I am happy he is back in Pittsburgh. Yeah Howard!!!!!!!- Carolyn, Greensburg I admit that I have listened to the Howard Stern show and found his views to be, sometimes, eye opening as well as controversial. However, when he began the E channel broadcasting, the nudity, the continual pornographer interviews ... I lost interest. I hope to see Howard Stern and his conceited, chauvinistic show moved to another station on AM radio perhaps ...- Donna, Murrysville Interesting comments by a lot of people today. But let's be honest here; this doesn't have a whole lot to do with Constitutional Rights or how much the viewers 'missed' Howard Stern--this is about the bottom line in advertising revenue and who is going to pad Infinity's pocket. Stern makes the station more money, and now these wonderful voices on our local station will be lost--at least for a little while.- Mary, Pittsburgh Copyright 2004 by ThePittsburghChannel.
