2009 PITTSBURGH -- Forget the champagne -- Pittsburgh rock icon Donnie Iris is celebrating 30 years with his own brand of beer.King Cool Light -- named after Donnie Iris and The Cruisers' second album -- will make its Pittsburgh debut on Friday night.The name "just seemed to go with the whole beer thing, for some reason. It sounds right, " Iris told Channel 4 Action News.Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., will handle the brewing.The band will celebrate the new beer and a long career together with a Friday night concert at Diesel on the South Side.Iris, of Ellwood City, Beaver County, is best known for the songs "Ah, Leah" and "Love Is Like a Rock."
