Internet Auction Wants Eminem House Bidder To PaySterling Heights Home Was Formerly Lived In By RapperPOSTED: 9:46 a.m. EST December 3, 2002 Will the real Slim Shady please pay up?
Internet auction company eBay wants somebody to pay the $99.9 million a buyer has promised for the former home of Detroit rapper Eminem.
The Sterling Heights, Mich., home went on sale in November with an initial bid of $600,000 and the bids kept going up. When bidding was over, the high bidder backed out of the deal.
Online internet company eBay most likely won't get the money for the house from the next highest bidder.
The first suitor told current owner Darren Martens that the bidding got out of hand and that his bank wouldn't let him borrow the money.
Martens said he never took the multi-million dollar bid seriously. He's writing off the $20 million bid, too.
Most likely, he'll end up with a bona fide offer around $2 million.
The 5,000-square-foot house has a sauna, jacuzzi and built-in pool.
Martens says he put the house up for bid after he saw another Eminem home in Warren, Mich., fetch bids as high as $11 million.
Meanwhile, another house reportedly lived in by Eminem has cropped up on eBay.
The owner of the house, off 8 Mile Road, in Detroit, says that this is the same house that appears on the cover of "The Marshall Mathers LP."
"Compare the steps, front porch, brick front facial of the residence, and also notice the tree and aluminum siding on the house," the seller says.
That house has a current bid of $500,000 on eBay.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, now lives in a gated community in Clinton Township, Mich. He reportedly shares the house with his wife, Kim, and their daughter, Hailie.
