A neurosurgeon at UPMC is operating on professional wrestler John Cena to fix a herniated disc in his neck Tuesday, according to WWE.com.

Cena did not wrestle Monday night on the WWE's "Raw" TV show in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The company said he was suffering from numbness in his right arm and shoulder pain.

His surgery was scheduled to be performed by Dr. Joseph Maroon, who is also one of the Pittsburgh Steelers' team doctors.

The WWE crew is in town to film the latest edition of its weekly "Smackdown" wrestling show, which is being held Tuesday night at Mellon Arena.
