Production began on Monday and filming began Tuesday at Kennywood Park for a new move called "Adventureland."

Hundreds of Pittsburgh-area residents showed up for the casting call over the weekend.

Greg Mottola, who directed the summer blockbuster hit "Superbad," directs "Adventureland" as well. The movie is based around Mottola's own life. He worked in the real Adventureland in Long Island, N.Y., after college.

In the movie, which is set in 1987, actor Jesse Eisenberg plays a recent college graduate who couldn't afford a European vacation, so he ended up working for minimum wage at an amusement park.

Actress Kristen Stewart plays his love interest. Also starring in the film is actor Ryan Reynolds.

The names of the rides and games will be changed for the movie, but if you can reach back far enough, you'll be able to recognize the Pittsburgh-area landmark.

"This is one of the few amusement parks," said art director Matt Munn. "It's a historic landmark, and it's maintained that older look. It hasn't been updated. There are the wooden roller coasters, which are great."

In the film, you will notice many of Kennywood's rides and a lot of locals playing extras.

"Adventureland" will be filming in Kennywood through Nov. 6. Crews will then be filming in other locations around Pittsburgh as well.
