The traditional tree-lighting, Macy's window displays and ice skating at the PPG rink all returned for 2009.

Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl lit the holiday tree.

Members of the Channel 4 Action News team also joined the festivities by hosting some of the events.

Action News anchors Wendy Bell and Andrew Stockey emceed a Roberto Clemente Bridge Party, accompanied by music from Pittsburgh oldies band Johnny Angel and the Halos.

Fellow Action News anchors Mike Clark and Sally Wiggin also served as emcees for events taking place at PPG Place Plaza.
