Pittsburgh Public Schools will not drop the word "public" from its name this fall.

Last week, the school district discussed plans to refer to itself as simply "Pittsburgh Schools" and standardize the names of its schools by using the word "Pittsburgh" in each school name.

For example, Schenley High School would have been referred to as Pittsburgh Schenley.

But now, after parents and residents seemed to disagree with the changes, district officials have decided to keep everything as is.
