The Owls responded when Van Camp hit Cortez Gent with a two-yard touchdown toss early in the second period.

Webb extended the Blazers' lead to 21-7 on a two-yard run with just under nine minutes left in the first half, then followed up with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Borne less than three minutes later.

Van Camp answered back for the Owls with a five-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter.

Slaughter's 31-yard scoring run extended UAB's lead to 35-14 with a minute- and-a-half left in the period, but Van Camp found Grant with a 22-yard scoring pass as time expired to cut the Blazers' lead to 35-21 at halftime.

Borne extended the UAB advantage to 42-21 with a two-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.

Webb hooked up with Forrest on scoring passes of 24 and 17 yards to stretch the margin to 56-21 early in the fourth.

Van Camp found Jason Harmon with a 15-yard touchdown pass to complete the scoring with just under 12 minutes left in regulation.

UAB, which entered the week ranked ninth in the nation in rushing with 230 ypg, finished with 330 yards on 35 attempts, compared to just 130 yards for an FAU squad which ran the ball 34 times on the day.
