Minneapolis, MN -- (Sports Network) - Minnesota wide receiver Eric Decker will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a sprained foot.Decker, who is the school's all-time leader in receptions with 227, suffered the injury during last Saturday's loss at Ohio State. Head coach Tim Brewster indicated Decker may have to face surgery, but is optimistic that whatever the solution, he may be able to return for a potential bowl game. "What we hope is we can possibly get Eric back for a bowl game if that presents itself. There are some other people looking at his foot to try to see exactly what needs to be done. Surgery could be involved; could not be involved," said Brewster Tuesday at his weekly press conference. "So hopefully what happens for Eric is he gets a chance to finish his career as a Golden Golfer in a bowl game representing the university." Decker registered 50 receptions for 758 yards and five touchdowns in eight games this season. Over his four years with Minnesota, the 22-year-old has racked up more than 3,000 receiving yards and 24 TDs. Minnesota has its work cut out in order to play beyond the regular season, as it has posted a 4-4 mark overall and an eighth-place 2-3 record within the Big Ten. The Gophers are home the next three weeks to face conference foes Michigan State and Illinois along with South Dakota State before finishing the year at Iowa on November 21.
