Piscataway, NJ -- (Sports Network) - Mike Teel threw a Big East Conference record-tying seven touchdowns to lead the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to a 63-14 thrashing of the Louisville Cardinals in the regular season finale for both teams. Teel threw for a school-record 447 yards for Rutgers (7-5, 5-2 Big East), which extended its current winning streak to six games. Tim Brown finished with a career-high 173 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the win. Hunter Cantwell threw for 270 yards and one score in the loss for Louisville (5-7, 1-6), which clinched the program's first losing season since 1997. Rutgers posted a school-record 49 first-half points and did not allow a single point to Louisville in either of the first two quarters. Six of Teel's touchdown passes came in that first half, including 74 and 37-yard strikes to Brown. Tiquan Underwood also reached the end zone on receptions covering 12 and 26 yards. Louisville finally got on the scoreboard early in the third quarter on a one- yard run by Brock Bolen, but Teel answered right back with a 44-yard touchdown passe to Kenny Britt, who also had a scoring run in the clash. After three quarters, Rutgers led 56-7. The teams traded touchdowns in the final frame, as a 16-yard scamper by Jourdan Brooks of the Scarlet Knights was followed by an 11-yard scoring pass from Cantwell to Bolen. The Scarlet Knights, who racked up a season-high 671 total yards, achieved their highest point total ever in a Big East Conference tilt.
