Georgia
2007 SEASON IN REVIEW: In the second week of the 2007 season, Georgia dropped a 16-12 decision to South Carolina, and many fans and analysts figured that the defeat was a sign that the Bulldogs were not strong enough to contend for a BCS Bowl. Fortunately for Mark Richt and his Dawgs, that was not the case. In fact, the team only lost one other game the rest of the season, a rather lopsided road setback against Tennessee. Georgia was arguably the best team in the nation down the stretch, winning its final seven games, including a 41-10 thrashing of Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. Also coming during that victory streak was a triumph over Florida and a double-digit decision over Georgia Tech.
