Tampa, FL -- (Sports Network) - Dominique Jones poured in a game-high 30 points to lead the South Florida Bulls to a 70-59 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats in a Big East battle at the USF Sun Dome.

Augustus Gilchrist added 13 points off the bench for South Florida (9-20, 4-3 Big East), while Alex Rivas chipped in 10 points. Chris Howard dished out a game-high 10 assists as well for the Bulls.

Yancy Gates tallied 14 points while collecting seven rebounds to lead the way for Cincinnati (18-12, 8-9), while Deonta Vaughn scored 13 points to go with seven assists in the losing effort. Alvin Mitchell notched 11 points as well for the Bearcats.

The Bearcats held USF to a mere 37.0 percent shooting from the floor during the opening period of play and took a 29-24 advantage into the break.

In the second frame, however, the Bulls battled back with a 59.1 percent effort from the field to go with a 13-of-17 performance at the charity stripe to earn the 11-point win.

The Bearcats converted a mere 37.7 percent of their attempts from the floor in the loss.
