Report: Pitt's Blair Expected To Enter NBA Draft

POSTED: 2:11 am EDT April 8, 2009

(Sports Network) - University of Pittsburgh forward DeJuan Blair is expected to announce he is foregoing his final two years with the Panthers in order to enter the NBA Draft, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

The 6-foot-7 Blair, who will make his announcement as early as Wednesday, led the Panthers to the Elite Eight before bowing out to Big East foe Villanova. He played in 35 games this season and averaged 15.7 points and 12.3 rebounds.

Blair displayed his inside presence on the big stage during the NCAA Tournament, and became the first Pitt men's basketball player since 1958 to earn First Team All-America honors from the Associated Press. Don Hennon also earned the distinction back in 1958.

The co-Big East Player of the Year scored 979 points (13.6 ppg.), pulled down 769 rebounds (10.7 rpg.) and shot 56.8 percent (394-694) from the floor in his two years with the Panthers.
