Memphis' Anderson Withdraws From NBA Draft

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - University of Memphis junior Antonio Anderson withdrew himself from the NBA draft on Friday.

"I've decided to take my name out of the draft," Anderson said. "The feedback I received is that I would be taken in the second round, and I wasn't comfortable with that. I'm excited about my decision to return. As I told Coach (Calipari), I'm happy about coming back, earning my degree and playing another year of college basketball for Memphis."

Anderson was fourth on the Tigers in scoring (8.6 ppg) last season and was named the Conference-USA Tournament MVP, also earning a spot on the conference All-Defensive team.

Memphis finished the year as the national runner-up, with an NCAA record 38 victories. Anderson returns to a Tigers squad which has amassed 104 wins in three years, and are 29 away from tying the NCAA record for wins in a four- year period set by Duke from 1997-2001.
