POSTED: 1:02 am EST November 18, 2008

(Sports Network) - Matt Formisano's tip-in with four seconds remaining lifted the Utah State Aggies to a thrilling 61-59 win over the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in non-conference action at the Thunderdome.

Formisano finished the game with six points off the bench, while Tai Wesley led the Aggies (2-0) with 12 points and eight rebounds. Gary Wilkinson posted 11 points and eight boards in the victory and Jaxon Myaer also had 11 points.

James Powell and Chris Devine each scored 14 points to guide UCSB (1-1) in the loss.

Utah State shot 47.8 percent from the floor in the first half and it held a 30-27 lead at the intermission.

Trailing 59-50 with just over four minutes left, the Gauchos went on a 9-0 run to knot the game at 59-59 on a three-pointer by Powell with 29 seconds remaining. Formisano, though, gave the Aggies a 61-59 lead on a tip-in with four ticks left. UCSB had a chance to win, but Jordan Weiner's three-point attempt at the buzzer was off the mark.

The Aggies connected on 47.9 percent of their attempts from the field and 6- of-14 from downtown in the game.
