GAME NOTES: The Brown Bears and Dartmouth Big Green close out their 2007-08 schedules tonight as they meet in Ivy League action at Leede Arena in Hanover. The Bears refused to be taken advantage of this season and the team made sure of it by whipping up on the rest of the Ivy League, save for Cornell which defeated the Bears twice. More recently, the Bears visited Harvard on Friday night and left the Crimson in the dark with a 78-62 victory, the third straight and the ninth in the last ten outings for the club. Meanwhile, the Big Green came close to picking up a win less than 24 hours ago, but ended up folding against the Yale Bulldogs in a 50-48 decision. With respect to the all-time series between these two schools on the hardwood, Dartmouth leads the Bears by a count of 74-62, but it was Brown that posted the 77-51 win in the first meeting of the season back on February 8th at home.

Even though the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament is no longer available in the Ivy League, the Bears refused to give up. Damon Huffman had a lot to say about the team's 16-point win over Harvard, as did Peter Sullivan as they generated 19 and 18 points, respectively. Scott Friske didn't score in double figures for the team, but he did manage to clear a team-high 11 rebounds and also hand out six assists. Also scoring in double figures in the decision were Mark McAndrew and Chris Skrelja who posted 13 and 10 points, respectively. McAndrew and Huffman are looking down on the rest of the scoring list for the Bears, with the duo scoring 16.6 and 14.8 ppg, respectively, not to mention converting about 42.5 percent from three-point range.

Scoring was at a premium on Friday night when the Big Green came up a basket shy of sending a game into overtime. DeVon Mosley was the lone double-digit scorer for the team as he came away with 10 points. Alex Barnett struggled in the way of shooting at a mere 2-of-12 from the field, but he offset that with 11 rebounds. The team as a whole shot just 37.3 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent beyond the arc. Barnett currently leads the team in scoring with his 15.5 ppg and is also first in rebounding with 7.3 rpg. Although shooting under 40 percent from the field this season, DeVon Mosley is the only other double-digit scorer for the program at 11.8 ppg. The problem with the Big Green is that they still haven't learned how to keep the pressure on against the rest of the Ivy, just as they had done earlier in the non-conference schedule.

Finishing far and above Penn and Princeton this year will provide Brown with reason to brag, not to mention enough incentive to dismiss Dartmouth here.

Predicted Outcome

Brown 67, Dartmouth 60
