NCAA Game Summary - Northwestern At Tulsa

(Sports Network) - Jerome Jordan scored 16 points to lead the fourth-seeded Tulsa Golden Hurricane to a 68-59 victory over the fifth-seeded Northwestern Wildcats in the first round of the 2009 NIT at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Ben Uzoh and Justin Hurtt added 13 points apiece in the win for Tulsa (25-10), while Ray Reese chipped in 12 points to go with eight rebounds and seven assists for the Golden Hurricane.

The duo of Craig Moore and Kevin Coble scored 17 points each to lead the way for Northwestern (17-14), with Coble also collecting five rebounds and passing out six assists.

The Golden Hurricane were limited to a mere 33.3 percent from the floor during the opening frame, enabling Northwestern to take a slight 30-28 lead into the break.

Tulsa then buried a scorching 58.8 percent from the field to go with a 15- of-17 effort at the foul line in the second stanza, claming the nine-point win.

Tulsa advances to the second round of the NIT and will face Auburn on Friday.
