NCAA Game Summary - Iowa Vs. Michigan

(Sports Network) - DeShawn Sims poured in 27 points on strong shooting as Michigan crushed Iowa, 73-45, in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Sims went 12-of-16 from the field and Manny Harris contributed 18 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the seventh-seeded Wolverines (20-12), who will take on second-seeded Illinois Friday night in the quarterfinals.

Michigan shot 59.2 percent from the floor and had 22 assists on its 29 made field goals. The Wolverines also had nine steals, forcing 17 turnovers from the Hawkeyes.

Cyrus Tate had 12 points and Jake Kelly scored 10 for Iowa (15-17), which fell behind 40-19 at halftime and shot just 33.3 percent.
