Call 4 Action: Pa. Lemon Law

WTAE-TV's Susan Koeppen Reports

UPDATED: 4:11 p.m. EDT February 12, 2003

An addition to Pennsylvania's existing lemon law is intended to protect used car buyers from purchasing re-sold lemons without full disclosure.

WTAE Call 4 Action reporter Susan Koeppen says anyone who buys a lemon must receive disclosure at the time of sale and sign a document saying they know the vehicle is a lemon. The title must also reflect this information, and buyers will get a copy of it.

Sellers can face a $2,000 penalty if they don't disclose the lemon information, Koeppen says. The car buyer can receive a refund or another car.

More information about this recent change to the lemon law is available at www.lemonlaw.com/bill767.html.
