Police: Butler Co. Man Escapes After Robbery, Caught Trying Again

Last Minit Mart In Muddy Creek Township Robbed, State Police Say

Pennsylvania State Police in Butler County have arrested a man in connection with a robbery Saturday night at a Muddy Creek Township store.

Police said Shawn Aaron Hobel robbed a Butler County store.

Shawn Aaron Hobel is accused of robbing the Last Minit Mart on Route 19 at about 10 p.m.

Hobel was seen fleeing the store in a 1988 multi-colored pickup truck with Pennsylvania license plateYYG-43-55, state police said.

According to police reports after the robbery at the convenience store, Hobel tried to rob Druckers General Store around 12:30 a.m.

Hobel was arrested after a short foot chase by state police in New Castle, investigators said.

He was taken back to Butler County and is facing a number of charges including robbery, attempted robbery and making terroristic threats.

He's currently in the Butler County Jail on a $200,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3.
