South Butler Teachers Back In Class, Still No Contract Resolution

State Requires Teachers To Return To Class

Teachers in the South Butler County School District were back in class Wednesday.

Despite an ongoing dispute and strike, teachers had to return to the classroom on Wednesday for the students to get their required 180 days of instruction by June 15.

It's the second strike in a year for the teachers, who have been working without a contract.

South Butler County classes have been canceled since the start of the strike on Sept. 21. State law limits the amount of time a teachers' strike can continue.
