Berlin, Germany -- (Sports Network) - Nikolai Valuev will face off with John Ruiz for the vacant WBA heavyweight title on August 30.

The fight will take place in Berlin, where Valuev defeated Ruiz in 2005 to take the WBA heavyweight belt. Current champion Ruslan Chagaev was forced to pull out of his mandatory title defense against Valuev, because of a ruptured Achilles tendon, thus forcing the WBA to set up this bout.

The 2005 fight is the only other professional fight between Valuev (48-1, 34 KOs) and Ruiz (43-7-1, 29 KOs).
