Identical triplets were delivered this week by a Leechburg woman at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

"The rarity of that is about one in a million that would happen," said Dr. Jennifer Celebrezze, an obstetrician at AGH.

Amanda Faher told WTAE Channel 4 Action News reporter Janelle Hall that she knew twins ran in her family, but she never imagined she'd give birth to three baby boys -- and on her third wedding anniversary, no less.

"They said, 'Aw, you're having triplets,' so we were just shocked," Faher said. "It was jaw-dropping."

Matthew Aaron, Nathan Brady and Michael Christopher each weighed more than 5 pounds at birth. All three baby boys are healthy.

"I think this is going to be it," said Faher's husband, Matthew. "If there was a way to guarantee that we would have one girl, there might be an effort."

Doctors and nurses at AGH said it may be a couple of weeks before the triplets can go home.
