Free Swim Lessons Offered At Allegheny County PoolsPasses On Sale At North Park, South Park, Boyce Park, Settler's CabinUPDATED: 2:14 pm EDT July 2, 2009 PITTSBURGH -- Warmer weather is here, and it's time to take a dip in the Allegheny County pools.To encourage new swimmers to take to the water, the county is offering free swimming lessons.According to a news release from county officials, free swimming lessons will be conducted at the pools in Boyce, North, Settler's Cabin and South parks from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in July.Classes for people with last names beginning with "A" through "K" will start on Tuesday, July 7. Classes for people with last names beginning with "L" through "Z" will start on Thursday, July 9.Swimmers must be five years or older to participate and no pre-registration is required.For more information, visit www.alleghenycounty.us.The pools at North, South, Boyce and Settler's Cabin parks are open daily from June 6 through Sept. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.Family, single and senior passes are on sale at the parks' administration offices and at all four pools.Daily admission rates are: $5 for ages 18 through 59; $3 for ages 60 and older; $4 for ages 6 through 12; and $1 for ages 5 and younger.A season pool pass costs: $110 for a family of four and $15 for each additional family member $60 for an individual pass $30 for seniors 60 and over $20 to replace a lost or stolen pass
