New and updated street data, that could improve response times to emergencies, was presented to local government and school officials on Thursday afternoon.

Researchers at the Visual Information Systems Center at University of Pittsburgh's School of Information Sciences compiled the improved street data. Christopher Temple and Robert Regan created the street data update that is valued at $100,000.

The Pittsburgh Street Data Update has the most accurate address information ever compiled for the city of Pittsburgh. This new data is expected to help cut response time for emergency personnel and aid in future urban planning.
