PFA Dropped: Kurt Angle, Ex-Girlfriend Must Avoid Each OtherOlympic Medalist, TNA Pro Wrestling Star Awaits Next Court HearingPOSTED: 11:04 am EST November 9,
2009 PITTSBURGH -- Olympic gold medalist and TNA pro wrestler Kurt Angle had a protection from abuse order dismissed by an Allegheny County judge on Monday, and there's a new civil agreement in place to keep Angle and his former live-in girlfriend apart. The case stems from a disagreement between Angle and former girlfriend Trenesha Biggers, who has also wrestled for TNA under the name "Rhaka Khan."On Monday, Angle's attorney, Michael Santicola, told Channel 4 Action News that the PFA was voluntarily withdrawn by Biggers before a scheduled hearing in Judge Kathryn Hans-Greco's courtroom.Under terms of a no-contact civil court order, Biggers and Angle have agreed to stay away from each other."The advantage for Mr. Angle is that now Ms. Biggers is required to follow the order as well," Santicola said. "She is not to contact him. She is not to text him. She is not to e-mail him.""I think, although a settlement was reached, this was a great result. It protects Ms. Biggers for a period of three years. It's a very good thing," said Biggers' lawyer, Dana Levine.Since Angle and Biggers are both wrestlers, it's conceivable that they could bump into each other professionally, just through being in the same line of work."There may be intermittent contact, and we've put in the order that that is understood," Santicola said.According to an affidavit of probable cause, Angle attacked Biggers in his Moon Township home on Aug. 6, but she did not go to police until nine days later, showing them bruises and scratches she claimed were from the attack.Biggers did not show up in court last month for a hearing on a simple assault charge against Angle. The hearing was rescheduled for Nov. 10 before Coraopolis District Judge Mary Murray.Photo Slideshow - Kurt Angle In Pittsburgh Through The YearsAngle, 40, was arrested in Robinson Township on the morning of Aug. 15, just hours after Biggers, 26, got the PFA order and had Moon police officers remove him from his house, where she was also living at the time.Robinson Township District Judge Carla Swearingen found Angle not guilty of a harassment charge related to the alleged PFA violation that got him arrested.Related Video - Angle Talks To Media, Becomes Emotional After Robinson Township HearingAngle has said that he never physically harmed Biggers or did anything that would cause her to ask police for protection.Charges of drug possession and driving with a suspended license were also filed when Angle was arrested. Those charges were later dropped because Angle had a prescription for the human growth hormone that police saw in his car when they stopped him and because the license suspension was related to a DUI charge that he beat at trial last year.
