Rite Aid Celebration Of Lights Benefits WTAE's Project Bundle-UpNearly 3 Million Lights On Display At HartwoodUPDATED: 3:44 pm EST December 3, 2009 PITTSBURGH -- The Rite Aid Celebration of Lights will be open for viewing at Hartwood in Indiana Township, Allegheny County, from Nov. 20, 2009, through Jan. 3, 2010.Visitors may drive through from 6-10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and from 6-11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.The annual attraction, now in its 18th year, will be open daily during the holiday season -- including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. More than 600,000 people drive through each year.Slideshow - Celebration of Lights PhotosThe Rite Aid Celebration of Lights, presented by Allegheny County and WTAE-TV Channel 4, is an outdoor illuminated spectacle displayed along a 3½-mile stretch of roadway leading up to the stunning mansion at Hartwood. Visitors are able to view the displays from their cars. More than 2 million lights shine on holiday-themed figures standing three to 40 feet tall.This event helps raise money for WTAE-TV Channel 4's Project Bundle-Up, a partnership with The Salvation Army of Southwestern Pennsylvania, which provides new coats, gloves and other cold-weather clothing to children and senior citizens.Suggested donations of $12 per carload or $3 per person for nonprofit organization buses and $5 per person for for-profit organization buses will primarily benefit WTAE-TV Channel 4's Project Bundle-Up.For more information and directions, call 877-LITE-UP-4.
