Disaster Relief Benefit Events, Prayer Services

The following benefit events are planned:

American Ribbon

Nov. 4: Cut-A-Thon, noon-5 p.m. Command Performance (Richland Mall, Gibsonia). Proceeds go to September 11th fund. Call 724-443-8280.

Nov. 10: "The Light of Freedom" patriotic puppet program. Kennedy First Alliance Church, 941 McCoy Road, McKees Rocks, 6:30 p.m. Benefits September 11th Relief Fund. Call 412-771-3317.

Nov. 10: Prayer vigil. Connellsville Junior High East auditorium, 2-4 p.m. Event consists of religious and patriotic expression, covering wide spectrum of religious belief.

Nov. 11: Memorial 9.3 (15K) Run/Walk, 1 p.m. Starts at Shanksville-Stonycreek High School, Shanksville. Course will circle the Flight 93 crash site. All finishers receive a participation ribbon. Proceeds benefit Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department and their plans to honor the victims families. Call Janice Boyko (412-885-2537) or David Mapes at (814-445-6213).
