BMW showed off its new Z4 roadster earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.The little convertible features a retractable aluminum hardtop that goes up or down with the touch of a button and takes about 20 seconds to open or close.
Because of the retractable hardtop, the new Z4 is available only as a roadster, where the previous generation was offered as a soft-top convertible or a closed coupe.Even with the top down, there's plenty of room in the trunk as one of the pieces of the roof can slide out of the way.Powering the little roadster is a 3-liter inline-6-cylinder engine. The sDrive30i model generates a sold 255 horsepower. The sDrive35i cranks out 300 horsepower from the same engine by adding two turbochargers.The Z4 goes on sale in May 2009.Images Of The 2009 BMW Z4
